Congratulations, you have a tiny human growing inside of you! Or you just gave birth to a demanding bundle of joy! Either way, it’s time for a massage. It’s time to take care of Mamma!

Yes, it’s okay to get a massage while you’re pregnant.

Many people wonder if they can get massages at all during pregnancy. Yes! The only change we make is that we don’t do deep, abdominal massage.

Massage helps your body accept the changes of pregnancy.

Massage is a wonderful tool to use during and after pregnancy.

Your body changes so much during that time, and massage helps those changes take place with as little discomfort as possible.

Low back pain, hip pain, and swollen ankles are the most common things people experience during pregnancy.

Your ligaments and tendons are changing, especially in your belly; so massage supports that and your baby!

With our bolsters, you can lay down comfortably.

We use bolsters designed to support your body so that you can lay on both your belly or back. There is space for your belly and breast so they don’t get squished.

Most of our clients report that being able to lay on their belly is the best part, because they otherwise cannot for months on end.

Massage is even more important after your birth.

Even if the birth was relatively easy, your body just went through a huge ordeal; and massage can help it reset.

Of course, your baby is worth any amount of discomfort. If you have a difficult birth, your body is especially in need of loving support.

A C-section is no small deal.

After a C-section, scar tissue develops and can cause pain and difficulty later with lower back pain, hip pain, painful intercourse, and more. Massage works out that scar tissue and returns it to normal, so you don’t have the pain.

“Postnatal and Prenatal massage for me has been a lifesaver!! I started seeing my therapist because I was in so much pain during my pregnancy that I couldn’t sleep at night. The pain in my low-back from the pull of the baby, and my hip pain was unreal! It turns out, tension in my quads was why my hips were so painful during pregnancy. I went for a massage once a month, and the main thing I would get worked on were my quads.

Postnatal massage turned out to be just as important! Because of nursing and holding my new baby all the time, it created an unreal strain on my upper back. Again, massage was a lifesaver!

Also, I learned that right before giving birth the whole body gets softer, more loose, so as to have the baby. I discovered this lasts a while after pregnancy, and it was the best time for me to deal with past pain and injuries.”

“When I started working with my therapist, I had been trying to get pregnant (for the second time) for about 6 months. I was gearing up to start taking clomid to be able to conceive. In the meantime, much of the work I did with her was to release scar tissue around my cesarean scar, and any other scar tissue in and around the area. I don’t recall how long we worked together before I got pregnant, but I am convinced that the work, and visualization, that we did was an essential part of my ability to conceive.
